Sometimes Hardship Can Lead Us To Something New

Hello loves, so happy to be here again, writing and connecting with all of you again. I had been so busy and so many things happened and now It is so great to write and share so many things with all of you. I have been busy for months up until now, I started to open my boutique in my studio again. My bridal business had been greatly affected due to Covid pandemic. I was forced to close the shop. I did whatever I could such as making face masks, but it didn’t work out really well. What I sold can just cover my daily expenses but not covered my business expenses but ya I still grateful for it. I knew that I need to undertook something else, at least to survive.

Considering I love cooking and baking, I thought it would be such a nice idea to sell cookies and other frozen foods. People were still need to eat and not all of them can cook even though they have times, especially those who have kids and constantly asking for food ( you know kids right, they ask for snacks anytime hahaha). So I made my signature chocolate chip almond cookies, and make frozen bitterballen. Surprisingly the response wasn’t bad, I started sold it to my friends, relatives and the more people try the more order I got. This is the picture I take from my instagram.

By the help of my mom and I have one staff we made these cookies at home. It maybe not so much or big business but I’m happy that I tried and made money from thing I love, baking.

About one year ago me and my husband decided to open a snack booth at local supermarket, at first I made it at home and sell it online. I made it frozen so people can stocked up their fridge with delicious healthy homemade food. The sales wasn’t bad so we decided to open a small booth. But sadly it had to close down due to the bad sales. The expenses for rent, staff salary were high so we decided to close down and sell it online again. Well at least we tried.

So now we are starting to live a normal life again, I am thinking to continue baking as my side hustle. The income from selling cookies is not bad and there is a satisfaction when people love what I make and I can make money from what I love. But since I started open my bridal business again, I need to manage my time wisely.

As human we often feel down and that’s normal, but whenever hardship comes our way think broader, don’t be afraid to find something new and start from small. One little step can lead to something bigger.

Hope you are all doing great these days!

  1. An inspiring article. I love how you also write your failures and be honest about it. It is hard to open a business. Good to see your husband also supportive and join the business
